The famous footwear label, owned by fashion entrepreneur Tamara Mellon, have made a capsule collection of accessories and shoes, with 25 per cent of profit being vested to funding the Simelela Rape Centre in Cape Town.
"We are women helping women and we are proud to continue our collaboration with the compelling and urgent initiatives of the Elton John Aids Foundation and to provide a voice for under-privileged women in South Africa,” Tamara told Vogue. The line, which consists of heels, ballet flats, flip-flops, clutch bags and totes all in bold punk rock pattern, will be sold in Jimmy Choo stores worldwide from November, with the product waiting list opening on 1st September.
"It’s a whole collage of the DNA of Jimmy Choo,” said Mellon.
Prices start at $95 for the flip-flops up to $995 for a large handbag. The line will also be the sole collection in the brand’s ad campaign photographed by Terry Richardson featuring Angela Lindvall. The collection will hit Jimmy Choo boutiques, as well as department stores, in November.
Tamara previously worked with Elton’s charity in 2005 on the 4 Inches project, a book of photographs which saw 14 stars including Kate Moss, Rebecca Romijin, Rachel Hunter and the Duchess of York, posing in Jimmy Choo shoes and Cartier jewelry.
