50 Cent launches Power fragrance

Rapper 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, has been significantly expanding the sphere of his activity for the last few years. He is a world-known rapper, producer and actor. And now he is launching a fragrance for his fans.

As a rep from Lighthouse Beauty stated the rapper is teaming up with them to release his first fragrance, Power by Fifty Cent. The name of the fragrance describes the singer’s life truly as the street-wise rapper raised by his grandparents has risen to mogul status since his appearance on the scene less than a decade ago.


"A man becomes as attractive as an attractive woman when he becomes successful and is publicly noted,” Jackson said.

"Power’ s an aphrodisiac.”
The Power fragrance will be the first launch for the newly formed Lighthouse Beauty, which includes artist managers at Brand Asset Management, the celebrities they represent, and developers and distributors of luxury fragrances.

The company is run by Chris Lighty, Howard Sherman of Mod Beauty, Philip Zellner of Product King Marketing, World Source Marketing Group, 111 Design and Edge Display, and Glenn Nussdorf, a major shareholder of Parlux, Perfumania and Quality King.

"The typical musician or actor might not know much about developing a fragrance or a skin care line, but he definitely wants to capitalize on his brand potential ,” said Chris Lighty, chief executive officer of Brand Asset Group and founder of Violator Management.

"After spending years bringing clients to major corporations to forge partnerships, I wanted to take that synergy to the next level by establishing a destination for artists and celebrities to create and distribute their brands from start to finish. What we’ll do at Lighthouse Beauty is not only transform a name into a product, but also take that product from its inception to the shelves.”

The fragrance will be sold exclusively in the mega shopping chain Macy’s and is sure to have success. Actually whatever the rapper does it soon becomes successful.

For example, now he is working with Bette Midler for a New York gardening program. Jackson is very proud of “The Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson Community Garden” in Queens, which is part of Midler’s New York Restoration Project.

Besides, the rapper is turning to serious acting in a new Joel Schumacher drama that is currently being filmed, “Twelve”, with co-star Chace Crawford of CW channel’s “Gossip Girl.”

In addition Mr Jackson is a founder of G-Unit Records, G-Unit Films, G-Unit Books, G-Unit Clothing and G-Unity Foundation. This work helped him earn $33 million in 2007, as Forbes magazine informs.
