BMW x MEDICOM TOY BEARBRICK “BMW Studio One”

To commemerate the grand opening of the new BMW Studio One space later this month, MEDICOM TOY has teamed up with the German automotive manufacturer to create a three-piece release of the iconic BEARBRICK figure. With a theme of sustainability, 30% of the plastic used in the creation of the BEARBRICKS are recycled as the figure’s aesthetics represents aspects of the BMW EfficientDynamics technology. The figure comes in a 50%, 100% and 400% size. The BMW Studio One will serve as a place to educate in regards to the growing issues of sustainability in the automotive industry.

Avril Lavigne – Abbey Dawn Clothing Line

Avril Lavigne keeps on working on her own clothing line called Abbey Dawn. As you might know she launched the first collection in July 2008 and received rather warm reactions. It looked cool and girlie and what is more important, it was affordable.
Now it’s 2010 and Avril is still working, that’s good. In September last year the Canadian singer presented her line at New York Fashion Week. The collection was received well, though there were a few negative responses too.

Fashion journalists criticized the range by saying it was not new, not special or surprising. But Avril doesn’t listen to those offensive remarks. She knows that there can never be only success and love. Everyone goes through difficulties to get what he wants.

Avril likes her collection and is happy to talk about it.

She says:
[There’s a] lot of hot pinks and blacks and stars and purple and zebra. Basically, everything I wear. I have a very particular style. I want it to be available to a lot of girls, and I want it to be affordable. What’s really important to me is that everything fits well and is well-made, so I try everything on and approve it all. The hoodies are slimming. It’s not a thick, bulky material.”

Now we have a chance to see the new Abbey Dawn collection being modeled by Avril herself. The clothes are all in rock-and-punk style with all those prints and bright colors. Jeans, hoodies, T-shirts, sneakers, leggings and suchlike pieces are what the collection includes. Looks lovely and youthful, an dalso feminien, something we couldn’t expect.

These clothes will have a great success with young generation – teens and young people in their 20s – who like to look cool and feel comfortable.

LG make magic come alive with 19 inch electronic paper

We’ve seen it happen at Hogwarts, as Harry Potter and his friends watched figures moving about in news papers. Well, we’re a step closer to the magic world, and with true muggle pride. Thanks to LG who have managed to develop an amazing 25cm x 40cm that is as large as a 19 inch screen. It’s only 0.3mm thick and has a weight of 130 grams only! A great advantage of this one is that the high-contrast ratio requires the device to be powered up only when the screen is refreshed.

There’s word that LG are all out to bring their 11.5 inch electronic paper into the mass production segment. This means that we can expect a lower price and some handy applications to go with it.

Louis Vuitton Animania Collection

Louis Vuitton collections have always been very unusual and different from others.

The Spring-Summer 2010 collection looks weird, especially those huge brightly-colored wigs. The Christmas ad campaign for accessories is also something fairy-like and far from reality. (Though I must admit the pieces look good). And now the new thing to make us surprised – Animania collection of accessories.

The range is named Louis Vuitton Animania. All items are adorned with the famous monogram and should look chic but actually they look funny.
Little rabbits, birds, squirrels – alittle too childish. And scarves that are to be worn by fashionistas are not sumptuous-looking.

The collection is said to be inspired by Gaston-Louis Vuitton’s wooden toys collection. His wife used to collect the mini wonders in the early 20th century and now, in the early 2010, Marc Jacobs made those mini creatures bigger and fashionable!

New technology requires you to whack your ringing phone to shut it up!

This may sound totally funny but yeah, you do need to whack your phone these days to shut it up. A newly developed system needs to be installed on your phone (that has an accelerator). The next time it rings while you’re in church or at a meeting, you can save yourself the embarrassment by simply whacking it while it’s still in your pocket. However, there are no smart tricks of how not to look dorky while slapping your own leg.

Now we know exactly what makes us get those powerful phone carry cases. It’s to keep us from keeping us from turning our phones to silent. Maybe if we hit it hard enough the cases may prove to be obsolete.

Samsonite Messenger Bag stores your laptop and charges your BlackBerry

Here’s a great solution for those who like carrying their world with them, under a single flap.

Samsonite’s Messenger Bag comes with a solar panel that provides enough power to charge your BlackBerry. As far as its main purpose is concerned, the bag can accommodate a 15.6 inch laptop.

You can, however, use the 12V automotive charger to charge your laptop by connecting it to your in-car charging station. Made of recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the bag boasts about its ‘green’ credentials.

The bag will be quite pricey. The only hitch is that the solar panel needs to exposure to direct sunlight for up to 4.5 hours.

Being public means being fashionable. Most celebrities do their best to look trendy and they often succeed and get positive responses from fans. However, in some situations stars can overdo, like Miley Cyrus recently.

The Hanna Montana actress looked extravagant and fashionable but hardly stylish donning those blue ripped jeans with white paint on them and a torn to threads top. Some would love it though.

HoloAD tshows off 3D holographic like technology, Help up Innovision, you’re our only hope’

3D may have been the biggest hit and this years trend at CES but it didn’t just end with TV’s that either required the use of 3D supported glasses or not like Intel and TCL's TVs, it was a little more in depth with some companies. For instance, a Taiwanese company called Innovision took things up a notch with their HoloAD technology, 3D on steroids, so we’d think. But the fundamentals behind this amazing holographic notion that was on display is quite simple. The system is placed inside a see-through glass pyramid-like casing that’s flat at the rear. A set of three separate images are projected onto the trapezoidal sides giving it a 3D hologram look, just like you’d expect to see in some Star Trek type movie. If you take a look at the video the company even managed to make it seem like the image itself was emanating from the iPhone that’s placed inside this shell. It’s brilliant!

Samsung’s mobile phone projector makes an appearance at this year’s CES too, still not available on shelves

Samsung is a little repetitive this year at CES. While their CES booth is usually something to look forward to each year one of their innovations that was showcased in last year’s booth, namely their projector phone, is also on display this year too. Of course there have been a few changes since it certainly seems a lot sleeker. The specs are yet to be announced officially and all there seem to be are a couple of small pics showcasing the handset displaying a video on a small piece of paper. Will this be the year where we finally see a commercially available mobile phone with a projector? I hope so.

This isn’t something new that’s hit us. We’ve seen the Viper application work wonders with the iPhone before. Now the company has give BlackBerry users something to lust for. Car owners can now lock and unlock their cars, start the ignition and do a few more trick with their BlackBerry phones. You can also upgrade an existing Viper remote system with the VSM100 Viper SmartStart module. The BlackBerry Viper SmartStart application will be available for free from the BlackBerry App World.

Lindsay Lohan’s Designs Stolen

It seems that this girl literally attracts trouble. After such a pressure with Ungaro collaboration she is again involved into an unpleasant situation. This time she hasn’t done anything wrong except being too credulous.

Lindsay has been working on her leggings line expansion when the sketches for her new pieces were stolen. The worst part of this story is that her friend did that to her. The actress-turned-designer claims that it is her longtime pal Patrick ‘Pootie’ Aufdenkamp who took her drawings and now uses those for his own line.

Apparently Lindsay feels furious. But she knows it is her fault she was so trusting. And the so-called ex-friend is planning to launch his line this coming February.

A source said:
"Patrick stole Lindsay’s sketches for her new 6126 clothing line. He is now running off trying to do his own line. And telling people he’s going to fashion market week in NYC on February 18 to debut his line. It’s horrible. He was her best friend. He has always used her, and she’s been warned to never trust him. Lindsay is a good friend and likes to see the good in people. She didn’t want to believe how bad Patrick’s energy was, and how false his friendship has always been with her.”

Patrick and Lindsay have been close friends for seven years and the star admits she’s been hurt by his betrayal.

She told UsMagazine.com:
"I should’ve known better. But new year for me and a new beginning! Health, happiness, success and love!”

This must be really frustrating for Miss Lohan as she is going to expand her 6126 collection by including jackets, dresses, and trousers in lace, cashmere and leather. Now she will have to invent new designs.

Emma Watson for Burberry Spring-Summer 2010 Ad Campaign

Emma Watson is incredible! She was perfect in all Harry Potter parts and she seems an ideal model for ad campaigns as well.

As you know she has been working with Burberry Prorsum since June 2009 and as pratice shows she brings lots of attention to the brand. So, there is no wonder they love her so much. They say that Emma embodies ‘classic effortless beauty’ which is exactly what the label wants to see in the adverts.

The new Spring-Summer 2010 campaign features the actress together with her sibling Alex and three other male models. All the young people look chic and classy and represent the new generation of fashion-conscious Britons.

Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer, commented:

"This campaign celebrates our heritage and our timeless Burberry icons. The energy of the images and the dynamic cast reflect the different attitudes and expressions of the Burberry guy and girl.

We’ve worked again with Emma Watson who has a classic, effortless beauty and is incredibly talented. Alongside Emma we have four British guys; Emma’s younger brother Alex Watson, Matt Gilmour, Max Hurd and George Craig.”

The pictures show us pretty trenchcoats which are a brand’s staple, dresses with ruffled shoulders and pieces featuring the classic Burberry check.

Emma gives a short interview during the shot in which she states she is happy to work with Mario Testino and Christopher Bailey again. Besides, she feels very lucky to be partially responsible for bringing her yonger brother Alex to modelling business.

She said:
"Today is really special for me in a number of different ways. It’s so nice to see Mario and Christopher again. They also shot my brother in the campaign. He’s having such a great time. He’s so psyched.’

Alex is delighted to participate in the campaign. He has already starred in Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, but this is his first experience in modelling.

He said:
"It’s such an honour to be a part of this. It’s really exciting."
