The Twilight Saga: New Moon

JustVim Movie Review
Synopsis: In the second instalment of Stephenie Meyer’s TWILIGHT series, the romance between mortal and vampire soars to a new level as BELLA SWAN (Kristen Stewart) delves deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural world she yearns to become part of—only to find herself in greater peril than ever before. Following Bella’s ill-fated 18th birthday party, EDWARD CULLEN (Robert Pattinson) and his family abandon the town of Forks, Washington, in an effort to protect her from the dangers inherent in their world. As the heartbroken Bella sleepwalks through her senior year of high school, numb and alone, she discovers Edward’s image comes to her whenever she puts herself in jeopardy. Her desire to be with him at any cost leads her to take greater and greater risks. With the help of her childhood friend JACOB BLACK (Taylor Lautner), Bella refurbishes an old motorbike to carry her on her adventures. Bella’s frozen heart is gradually thawed by her budding relationship with Jacob, a member of the mysterious Quileute tribe, who has a supernatural secret of his own. When a chance encounter brings Bella face to face with a former nemesis, only the intervention of a pack of supernaturally large wolves saves her from a grisly fate, and the encounter makes it frighteningly clear that Bella is still in grave danger. In a race against the clock, Bella learns the secret of the Quileutes and Edward’s true motivation for leaving her. She also faces the prospect of a potentially deadly reunion with her beloved that is a far cry from the one she’d hoped for.
Now to add a little JustVim perspective into this show, Bella could go down in literature as one of the dullest, most self-obsessed geeks of all time. Pick a wolf, pick a vampire, pick someone in the animal kingdom, and get on with it, why whine for such extended periods of time and dabble your kisses, love and lust on another when your heart tells you otherwise?
The first film was tolerable but "New Moon" just needs to go away quickly for it is leaden with emotional disasters and soapy scenes.
For true Twilight believers, the slow moments are more opportunity to gaze at pretty-boy young men playing characters who're both the best and worst boyfriends a girl could ever have. I mean puppy love, muscular adrenaline-crazed wolf-boys, leaving your girl so abruptly and “I will never, EVER leave you Bella…” just don’t seem to go well does it?
However, if it makes things better, it was worth noting that the werewolves CGI effects were cool additions and the 30 seconds long fight scene between one of the Volturi’s Vampire with Edward was a good, but short feast for the eyes. With that said, JustVim believe that it would be better if there were more action injected into this film, as our heart was as cold and pale as Edward’s poor, limp body the whole show, less when Jacob took off his shirt to reveal his buff, hot bod (Ladies, feast your eyes!).
Despite the focus on young, shirtless werewolves and well coiffed vampires, the second instalment of Stephanie Meyer's immensely popular series comes off as a tepid adventure in Zombieland. It was a bore and heavy with emotional nonsense, with young actors who cannot fully relate these feelings to the audience, panting for more action.
Well, Chris Weitz did try to portray some really difficult scenes of love and lost hope, but neither the cast nor the flow could accurately bring it to light as it was, well, difficult. Perhaps Chris should really think twice before venturing into deep, spiritually-inclined, morally-emotional, raw human feelings, trust and intrigue between lovers, especially with a cast of young actors/actresses who having troubles with pubescent puppy love and ripped muscles.
Mostly keeps going by reels and reels of moping from Bella and Edward --- the two have more mood swings and changes of heart than the entire cast of Gone With the Wind. I mean, was it really necessary for the seasonal effect on Bella as she fades from autumn into winter sitting by the chair in her room as she contemplates about Edward or otherwise totally incomprehensible feelings the director failed to let us know?
The relational knots of emo heroes and dreamy hunks are making it start to feel rather soapy, pretentious and turning this whole saga into a lifeless, stale and ridiculous male strip-show with lots of passionate kissing intermittently weaved into the film to an unfortunately repetitive effect.Well, with all this said and done, who am I to quibble with a patently-preposterous, escapist fantasy which never takes itself seriously, yet somehow still resonates perfectly with the overly-sentimental, puppy love inclinations of passionate, prepubescent females?
The JustVim Crew says “watch it if your heartbroken and need a draggy, modern-day soap-opera Vampire film to get you down more, but don’t say we didn’t warn you, after looking at ripped werewolves and a boring script that lugs on for 122 mins, we believe your money could have been better spent at the clinic----getting a sleeping pill to have a good rest!”

Peace

Taylor Swift: The New York Times Style Magazine

Taylor Swift is a girl I would talk hours about. She is beautiful and fashion-conscious, very creative and talented. I could say a lot more but she will do it better herself.

Taylor is a covergirl for this Sunday’s T: The New York Times Style Magazine. She is featured on a few glam photos and looks really wonderful.
She wears couture clothing, including a Chanel dress, a metallic Burberry Prorsum jacket, a Prada Swarovsli crystal top and other outfits form best fashion names.

Besides, the songbird gives an extensive interview about her life and songs. Speaking to T’s editor Lynn Hirschberg the singer reveals lots of facts we haven’t known about her.
Taylors tells about being an outisder at school and her double life as a result of this:
"I would sit on the edge of class and watch people interact with each other. I’d watch guys flirt with cool girls and I would watch best friends talk, and I would go home and write about it. If you listen to my albums, it’s like reading my diary.”

Her classmates didn’t like the music she wrote and often reacted badly to her speaking about that:
"I didn’t really have that many friends at school. Kids would heckle me: ‘Go sing that country beep.’ It just dawned on me that I had to love being different or else I was going to end up being dark and angry and frustrated by school. Sometimes I felt like I was some sort of spy because I would go to school during the day, and then, after school, I had this life that was completely different. I definitely was more nervous walking into my first day of freshman year in high school than I was walking up to record labels and handing them my CD. In school, I learned to stop talking about music because they didn’t like it when I did. I led a double life. I kind of started to live in fear when I would sing the national anthem at the 76ers game. If there was a write-up about it the next day in our local paper, I knew it was gonna be a bad day at school for me.”

But now Taylors isn’t afraid to express herself anymore. She writes everything she feels in her songs, including even names of people she used to like:
"I don’t hesitate — people who have no idea that I have a crush on them won’t find out through me telling them, but they will find out when they hear their name in a song. There was this guy who opened a couple of shows for me on tour and I talked to him a couple of times, but he never knew that I liked him. So I wrote this song called “Hey Stephen,” and when my album came out, I sent him a text message: ‘Hey, Track 5.’ It was so funny. He sent me back a long email saying, ‘Oh, my God!’”

Kate Moss crazy about bracelet

Kate Moss is not only fashion-conscious, she is fashion-crazy, jewelry-crazy I would say! It was reported yesterday that the supermodel had been so taken with a bracelet one of fellow guests at a recent wedding was wearing that she bought it off the woman immediately.

The accessory was the creation of jewellery designer Ann Dexter-Jones. It was the black onyx, black diamond, solid gold and silver bauble.

Kate wasn’t confident enogh to ask about the bracelet herself, she asked her friend and boss – billionaire retailer and head of Topshop Sir Philip Green – to purchase the piece she wanted so eagerly. So, Ann was offered a large sum of money for the accessory plus Kate was ready to give away her own Chanel bracelet.

Ann Dexter-Jones commented:
"She was so crazy to wear it so Sir Philip Green insisted Kate have it immediately and bought it for her right off my wrist. And Kate gave me her Chanel bracelet as a gift, so that my wrist wasn’t bare.”

Hilary Duff’s clothing inspiration

Hilary Duff’s new fashion line is inspired by her own fashion staples. When working on it the girl thought of clothes she couldn’t do without and included those into the range.

She said:

"I designed clothing that I feel are staples for my closet. Every girl needs a great leather jacket, and every girl needs a skinny pair of black jeans.”

The actress-turned-designer has launched the collection under her own label Femme for DKNY Jeans this fall.

She loves her designs a lot and she loves being an actress. But being so much popular is still new for her. Hilary finds it strange when she can’t visit shopping malls without being recognized and hounded by fans and photographers.

She explained to Nylon magazine:
"I walked into a mall one day and was mobbed by people. And I just remember feeling really different than everyone else. I felt really loved. But it was weird at the same time.”

Lady Gaga Elle December-January 2009/2010

Lady Gaga, the eccentric singer shows her human and feminine sides in Elle December/January 2009/2010 issue.

She looks normal and very pretty without her usual flamboyant outfit, outrageous make-up and eye-popping headgear. She even looks like a supermodel with those blonde curls and sexy garments.

The Bad Romance singer tells a lot about her future plans. She wants to have a normal family with a loving husband and kids. And this is not only for herself, she wants to make her father happy, too.

She said:
"In eight to 10 years, I want to have babies for my Dad to hold, grandkids. And I want to have a husband who loves and supports me, just the way anyone else does. I would never leave my career for a man right now, and I would never follow a man around.’

Although she values sexuality a lot she tries to attract attention by different things.

She commented:
"My album covers are not sexual at all, which was an issue at my record label. I fought for months, and I cried at meetings. They didn’t think the photos were commercial enough…The last thing a young woman needs is another picture of a sexy pop star writhing in sand, covered in grease, touching herself.

Speaking about the numerous scenes depicting her death she states:
"I feel that if I can show my demise artistically to the public, I can somehow cure my own legend. I can show you so you’re not looking for it. I’m dying for you on domestic television—here’s what it looks like, so no one has to wonder.’

Vodka now available as pills

We know that there are drinking bans all over the place and consuming alcohol, no matter how we disguise it is often a risky proposition. So we have something that can get us our share of spirit (strictly for vodka fans), that can quench your thirst, well, in a solid form. Behold these vodka pills, mastered by Russian manufacturer Evgeny Moskalev of Saint Petersburg who has managed to turn the drink into powder. It seems that this technique can also be used to solidify whisky, cognac, beer and wine. Just that in the case of the last two, we would need to pop in a pill every couple of minutes to get the real kick.
