Louis Vuitton for Red Cross Monogram Medicine Box

Coming off a clever creation celebrating the Apollo 11 Anniversary, internationally renowned fashion house Louis Vuitton reveal a new hard case made to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Red Cross, which began in 1859 on the battlefield of Solferino. The case features a full monogram print with various intricate details including a series of Red and Grey medicine cases arranged in the shape of the cross, capped off by a Red Cross painted on the case itself.

“When reflecting upon our collaboration with the Red Cross, it came to my mind to create a special Red Cross kit. The compilation of the red and silver aluminum boxes to form a red cross on the inside along with the logo on the outside make it visually impactful and a truly unique piece.” says Patrick-Louis Vuitton

“When Louis Vuitton, the world-famous company informed us of its ambition to reproduce the original first aid kit, inspired by the 1914 pattern, we were looking forward to seeing the result.

The final design is superb. With its pure aesthetics, it has the highest symbolic value, representing the power of its red cross.” says Oliver Brault, Managing Director of the French Red Cross.

Gucci to save rainforest

Fashion has become more ecology-conscious with Gucci’s desire to help save the rainforest.

The giant fashion conglomerate, which owns brands like Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen, has teamed up with the Rainforest Action Network to stop using paper made of Indonesian rainforests and plantations.

Besides, they are going to avoid the suppliers Asia Pulp and Paper.

The change of climate is inevitable now but Gucci believe we can make it less notable and dangerous for the world and humanity.

Mimma Viglezio, executive vice president of global communications at the group, said:
"Standing rainforests are not a luxury, they’re a necessity if the world wants to stop climate change. Our actions are lowering our own carbon footprint, but we hope that they will also raise awareness inside the fashion industry that it’s possible for our industry to make a difference for rainforests and for the climate.”

Gucci is a respected company and this can convince other fashion makers to stop using paper from those forests. Bosses at the Rainforest Action Network welcome the fashion giant’s dedication to the cause and praise them for the hard work.

Forest campaign director Lafcadio Cortesi told vogue.co.uk:
"The Gucci Group’s actions and commitments confirm its place as an industry leader. This move sets a bar for others in fashion and retail and demonstrates the foresight our society needs for our children and grandchildren to have standing rainforests and a stable climate.”

Hope other companies will soon join Gucci and help to save the earth. At JustVim, we try to go green too!

Heidi Klum to host Victoria’s Secret Show

Heidi Klum is so important for Victoria’s Secret that they’ve decided to invite her as a host to the annual fashion show this year. The model mummy feels her shape isn’t good enough for the catwalk just after three weeks she gave birth to her fourth child.

In August, she said:
"The last time I gave birth, I had two months, and I don’t know if I have that much time this time. It was pushing it the last time. But if I don’t make it, I’m sure I’ll be very sad.”

Heidi wanted to take part in the show but felt unsure she was ready to hit the runway. However, Heidi is an integral part of the company and organisers have made up their minds to involve the beauty as a host with Black Eyed Peas lined up to play a set.

The show will be held in New York on December 1.

Bell & Ross BR Minuteur Tourbillon Watch

Bell & Ross’ BR Minuteur Tourbillon is born from a desire to combine a chronograph function with a high-precision mechanism, a genuine challenge for any real technical innovation. The Tourbillon, the most noble of complications dressed in gold, compensates the differences in precision due to the earth’s pull. Priority was given to reading the hour functions in this luxurious model. An independent small second counter and a three-day power reserve complete the time information. The timer on the left of the dial is a second, dual scale timepiece (sixty and ten divisions) that measures time in hours and minuted from a chosen moment. This stand-alone timer is fitted with a Flyback, a system for resetting to zero and quickly relaunching the measurement. The Flyback optimizes the precision and rapidity in measuring several successive times. Only 30 pieces were created in this new design with further information available through the official Bell & Ross website.

Miranda Kerr for CS Magazine November 2009

This girl is getting more and more popular after Gisele disappeared from catwalks and Victoria’s Secret photoshoots. I don’t want to say she is less beautiful.

It’s just Gisele was more expressive but Miranda is far more feminine, in my opinion.

The model looks gorgeous posing for CS Magazine’s November 2009 issue in a Dolce&Gabbana tuxedo jacket and thigh-high boots. The shoot is named “Miranda Kerr rocks Chicago”.

Prada Book Announcement
